I was hunting in Cherokee Park today, the woods north of the tennis courts. Didn't find anything but junk, and lost my old Treasure Wise digging knife. Bummer Dude!

I feel you Marty, all I got this weekend was 48 bottle caps, 53 pulls tabs, 0.89 clad, a couple fishing weights and a sunburn!

I haven't lost a digger yet, but have lost two pro pointers.  It happens.

Loosing a $35 digger is sad but a $120-$140 Pin Pointer is a real bummer. I dropped by Ace hardware and got a Ames 7 in 1 garden tool for $20. It will do for the time being until I have time to get over to Tom's MD of MPLS.

Marty, sorry you lost your digger. It's always a bummer. I had a digger like that many years ago and snapped the blade off near the handle in some hard ground. Bought a Lesche after that and never looked back.

Well now I have the Ames and a Mine Lab and will keep them both in my detecting kit. Got a real good deal from Mike on the Mine Lab at the club rummage sale.

I've done business with Tom At Metal Detectors of Mpls a few times. Just bought a new Treasure Pro and a Lesche. Super nice fellow.

I've bought the majority of my gear from Tom. He's a good retailer/dealer and a good supporter of the GSTH.

Suggestion: Since I nearly lost diggers and pin pointers in the past, I now hook everything to me on elastic lanyards hooked to my belt loop by a carabineer. I even made one from an old desk phone coil.

Here is what I have been doing: I use florescent marking tape (sold at Menards) to mark my screwdriver/probe, electronic pin pointer, and digging tool.  Just wrap around the tool a few times and secure it with clear tape.  So when you are missing your tool in the outdoors, just look for the orange or pink tape.

I can bring a roll to the next meeting any anyone can tear off a few feet of it.  I have plenty of it, since I own 80 heavily wooded acres and don't want to get "lost."
